Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) for a Smoother Look

After child birth or weight loss, there can be excess abdominal skin and fat. In addition, there can be a separation of the abdominal muscles (six pack muscles). Exercise alone may not take care of this. An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) removes the excess skin and fat around the abdomen for a smoother, firmer look.

The abdominoplasty effect on a happier you.

For some people, exercising and dieting is simply not enough to attain their ideal body.

If you have loose skin or weakened abdominal muscles due to pregnancy or major weight loss, an abdominoplasty can provide a smooth and flat tummy through a safe surgical procedure.

The abdominoplasty procedure.

An abdominoplasty involves removing excess skin and fat and bringing muscles back together at the midline. This surgery can be combined with liposuction.

The surgery is performed through an incision on the lower abdomen, from hip to hip and a small incision around the belly button. Excess skin and subcutaneous tissue is removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened at the midline. The goal is to hide the scar in underwear or a bikini.

Recovery time may vary depending on the size of the incision required for your desired effect. Dr. Ayeni will go over these details with you before your procedure.

Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure and it is not covered by OHIP.
